William Petersen has partnered with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) by filming a PSA and raise money for their efforts.
William Peterson, plays Gil Grissom on CSI, has agreed to film a PSA to support the work of CASA. In conjunction with the PSA, CBS and CSI has donated one the replicas used in the show to benefit CASA. The miniature as you know, goes with the story line of the miniature killer and it is the one Gil created to get into the mind of the killer. The item is one of a kind and is estimated to be worth $25,000.00.
What an opportunity for the ultimate C.S.I.: Fanatic! Immediately following the CSI:Vegas Season Premiere on September 27th, one of the Miniature Killer models will be auctioned off on eBay to raise money for CASA.
Here’s a little bit about CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) from their website:
In 1977, a Seattle judge conceived the idea of using trained community volunteers to speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court. So successful was this program that soon judges across the country began utilizing citizen advocates. In 1990, the US Congress encouraged the expansion of CASA programs with passage of the Victims of Child Abuse Act.
Today, we have grown to a network of more than 50,000 volunteers that serve 225,000 abused and neglected children through 900+ local program offices nationwide. Our advocates, also known as volunteer guardians ad litem in some jurisdictions, are appointed members of the court. Judges rely on the information these trusted advocates present.
The next question becomes, are you going to bid? How much would you bid for this piece of TV history.
