FX Adapting Powers for TV

New York Comic Con always provides a wealth of stories and one of the most intriguing will bring an acclaimed comic to cable TV. Brian Michael Bendis confirmed that Powers, the book he does with artist Michael Avon Oeming is being adapted by FX.

Powers combines the elements of a superhero comic with that of a crime drama. In today’s landscape, littered with Law and Orders, CSIs and the like, this show could be a refreshing take on a well-worn genre.

There was an attempt to turn Powers into a movie, but that never materialized. And hey, it’s not like Bendis already has a full plate over at Marvel. Oh, wait. Looks like he’ll continue being one of the hardest-working men in comics.
