Frank Miller May Do Buck Rogers Film

Premiere Of Lionsgate's

After you’ve unleashed 300, Sin City and The Spirit on theatres, what do you do for an encore? Frank Miller and Odd Lot Entertainment may try on space traveling hero Buck Rogers on for size, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Rogers’ comic strip roots go back to the 1920s and he’s also appeared in movies and on TV, most notably in an NBC series. That one burned Erin Gray and her one piece jumpsuit into the American pop culture lexicon forever.  Uh-huh, yeah.

But I digress. Miller’s take on Buck Rogers is expected to be much darker. Dark and gritty images are, after all, something of Miller’s trademark. Readers, what do you think? Can Miller pull off a big screen Buck Rogers? Is a new Buck Rogers movie even a good idea?

I think he can totally pull it off… especially if he gets Johnny Depp to take the role of Buck. Holy moly, I can already see that on the screen, can’t you?

Still don’t know exactly what Buck Rogers was or did, but I do see your point about Erin Gray & those stellar, shiny, smooth 1-piece jumpsuits…Never made the connection she was the same woman when watching Silver Spoons though.

Miller is the right choice to do Buck Rogers film…There’s no better time to a Buck Rogers remake than now…My only problem is it has been so long since I’ve seen any Buck material, that I’ve forgotten what he & his role compare to…I know he’s a good-guy character from the future, but I don’t know what his job is…Is he a cop policing the galaxy of the future or a galactic Indy Jones character?
