“Over Her Dead Body” premieres this Friday (February 1, 2008) and while it looks a little bit funny, I am just not sold on it. I mean, this is the tagline: “Just because she’s passed on… Doesn’t mean she’s moving on.” Ouch! The movie is about a woman who is crushed by an ice sculpture of an angel on her wedding day. Over a year later, her fiancé is still trying to move on and seeks the help of a psychic. Based on some lies, he and the psychic begin to have a romantic relationship and his dead fiancé tries, in vain, to prevent them from getting together. Yeah… The cast is led by Eva Longoria Parker, Paul Rudd, Lake Bell, Jason Biggs and Lindsay Sloane.

Yeah, I’m not sure about this one either. For one thing, we’ve seen the plot a gazillion times. Come on, people, give us something new. And I’m just not sure Eva Longoria can transition from Wisteria Lane to the big screen. I do like Lake Bell, though, ever since her “Surface” days, so I’ll probably check it out.
