Pierre Collier designed the poster for the 61st edition of the Festival de Cannes (pictured, left), working from a photo by David Lynch.
I don’t really get it, though. Someone tell me what the Madonna look-alike has over her eyes. If it’s the same David Lynch who did Eraserhead…well, let’s just say that’s high on my list of movies I wish I’d never seen.
Anyhoo, Collier’s other poster designs include Jim Jarmusch’s Mystery Train, Shoei Imamura’s The Eel, Edward Yang’s Yi Yi and 2006 Palme d’Or winner The Wind That Shakes the Barley from Ken Loach.
