In preparation for the broadcast of what may be the only real awards show to air this year, The Screen Actors’ Guild Awards, some actors weighed in on why the SAG is so important to them. Here’s what CSI: Miami’s Emily Procter had to say:

Emily Procter, “CSI: Miami”
“I got so dressed up for my first meeting with an agent: I had on pantyhose, pearls, a headband, and I think I even took a briefcase. They handed me paperwork to fill out, which was, ‘What kind of outfits do you have?’ And I was like, ‘Tennis outfit? Got it.’ I checked all these costumes, basically, and Charlie Messenger, the agent, asked me how I’d like to go to work the next day. ‘Herman’s Head’ was shooting, and he thought they could use me in the office scenes. I was two weeks in and just thought, ‘I’ve made it!’ “
The event will be Simulcast Live on Sunday, Jan. 27, on TNT and TBS at 8 PM ET/PT, 7 PM CT, 6 PM MT.
