Twi-hards were buzzing last week at the news that Drew Barrymore might be in as director of “Eclipse,” the third installment of the “Twilight” franchise.
But the current buzz is that Barrymore is out, and Paul Weitz, brother of “New Moon” director Chris Weitz, is in.
Acting411 blog has all but confirmed that Paul Weitz, who co-owns Depth of Field Productions with his brother Chris – has signed to direct “Eclipse.”
Production has already begun on the second movie, “New Moon,” but 411 is reporting that “Eclipse” will NOT be filmed back-to-back with “New Moon.” The two movies will have completely separate casting cycles.
“New Moon” is headed to theaters Nov. 20, 2009. “Eclipse” is scheduled to hit theaters June 30, 2010.
