DS9′s Kira Joins Friday The 13th Cast

Nana Visitor, best known to sci-fi fans as Major Kira Nerys from the Star Trek spinoff Deep Space Nine, will appear in the Friday the 13th franchise reboot. Obsessed With Film said the news comes from the past weekend’s Starfest convention.

Visitor will play serial killer Jason Voorhies’ mother, Pamela, but don’t expect to see her for too long. They’ve taken a mold of her head, which she is apparently going to lose pretty early in the film. This revamp sounds radically different from the original Friday the 13th, in which Pamela was the serial killer menacing Crystal Lake.

Visitor won’t be the only SFUniverse fave in this one as Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki stars as an investigator trying to figure Jason out.
