Don’t Package DNA in a Plastic

Hsien over at Genetic and Health posted a question on Forensic DNA which goes like this: Why can’t DNA samples and other biological specimens for DNA testing be packaged in plastic?

She then asked that maybe CSI Fanatics already know the answer. Any volunteers?

Hsien (based on my stock knowledge), how about the evidence may contain some moisture that will grow bacteria thereby destroying it’s DNA structure?

Anyways, Hsien’s complete answer is found here.

Because they are sensitive, & the plastic could contaminate the samples.
