Scrubs fans have a lot to be excited about these days. Although the oddball sitcom is wrapping up its seven-year run on NBC this Thursday, everyone who knows anything about TV knows an announcement confirming the show is moving to new digs at ABC isn’t too far away.
Series star Zach Braff is excited about lots of things, too, as is clearly evident in his May 2nd blog post at ZachBraff.com. One of the things he discusses is the May 8th NBC Scrubs finale “My Princess,” an episode the actor directed.
According to him, the installment is not only based on The Princess Bride, but it’s a “GIANT homage” (all caps his) to the 1987 Cary Elwes-Robin Wright Penn fantasy film, as well. Braff describes it as the most epic and costly episode the show has ever filmed, and he cautions it also includes tons of fairytale staples, such as giants and potions and evil wizards, oh my!
Can’t wait.

I hope you and your husband enjoyed the episode, Cherie. Some fans were disappointed because it didn’t seem like a series finale. I guess they don’t realize it’s only a series finale for NBC. The show is expected to return for another season on ABC (Yay!).
Overall, I enjoyed the fairytale theme because I thought it was executed well (Zach Braff directed). Plus, my fave Dr. Kelso was back!

This show definitely has a niche with the kooky fantasy-type plot lines, and somehow they pull them off and make them funny to boot. I can’t wait to see this one. My hubby LOVES the Princess Bride so this will make his day.
