Dirty Jobs - Tire Recycling

dirty.jpg

As we all know, Dirty Jobs is a show on the Discovery Channel hosted by Mike Rowe where he highlights difficult, strange or even those messy jobs that many of us would never dream of being in.

The tire recycling job aired back in June 2008 in the “Brown Before Green” episode where Mike revisited jobs that were eco-friendly. Tire recycling is an important job in today’s society as it is both environmentally and economically friendly.

In the episode Mike is helping clean up an illegal tire dump that has over 90,000 tires. As these tires have been sitting in the dump for a while, they usually come with a lot of surprises, which aid in the “dirty jobs” classification.

After the tires are picked up they are then sorted and then determined which ones can be reused. Tires are then popped and are late going to be shredded.
