Ask any chick what’s on her top ten chick-flick list, and I bet “Dirty Dancing” will be there. I know it’s on mine. It’s one of those movies where no matter how many times you watch it, it still packs an emotional wallop.
So in the realm of remake possibilities, “Dirty Dancing” is probably a good bet, not only for viewers, but also for the studio – in this case, Lionsgate. I’m not talking about a lame sequel like “Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights,” but rather, a full out remake with the original story and new actors.
And, yes, there’s one in the works. But who to cast? Who would YOU cast in the Patrick Swayze role? A young break-out star or someone who’s been around a while?

Maksim Chmerkovskiy from DWTS. ( “bad boy of the ballroom “) Perfect for the role. Just like Patrick Swayzes’ Johnny Castle …good looking, sexy ”tough guy” who can really dance!
I saw tha Derek Hough from DWTS might be considered. Totally wrong for the part in my opinion.
I would cast Chord Overstreet.
Channing Tatum, none of the above have the sexuality or testosterone to play jonny! + he can dance better than all of the above! Jonny is supposed to be a little older….as a dance instructor!

none of those crappy actors, or Disney actors it will turn out crap like mean girls 2 and demeaning and kiddish….. you want someone with the same sex appeal Patrick Swazy had not one of those man-child mentioned and girl who looks like a girl next door type and not fake like most of the actors playing the nice girl;
