Did You Check Out The New Shows?

2008 Summer TCA Tour - Day 11

SFUniverse readers, did you take a gander at Life on Mars or Eleventh Hour? Has anybody looked at the British versions of these shows? I wonder how long a show like Mars can sustain its coma-based plotline. That seems like one you can only squeeze a couple of seasons out of. And in fact, the British version ran only two seasons.

In contrast, there should be no reason a show like Eleventh Hour can’t go on as long as there are new mysteries for Dr. Jacob Hood to solve. That is, of course, assuming people watched it tonight. We’ll have those numbers soon. CBS has to figure they can’t go wrong with two hours of Jerry Bruckheimer TV.

Bruckheimer’s CSI franchise is one of the reasons that CBS is on top of the TV heap so I suspect his show will be given every opportunity to succeed.

Watched ” Life on Mars” just love how they bring the old style of cop show back with cool music and clothing.

I really liked Eleventh Hour. I hope it lasts. Didn’t watch Life on Mars. The gimmick doesn’t appeal to me.

I DVR’ed 11th Hour but haven’t had a chance to watch it yet -serious SF logjam with all the shows last night.

I’ll be sure to check for the points you mentioned though, KayDee.

I watched Eleventh Hour, and while I wasn’t impressed with the premier, I’m intrigued enough (and a fan of Rufus Sewell enough) to keep tuning in for awhile. I thought the cloning angle a bit been-there to be the focus of the premier episode and Hood’s supposed genius IQ wasn’t shown off here. I hope that future episodes will crank up the stakes on the more, really showcase why Hood is in demand and why he needs an FBI bodyguard.
