In Prison Break Episode 1.02: Allen, Michael is intent on finding a bolt with the serial number 11121147 (the same number as on his tattoo) on the bleachers. He works at unscrewing the bolt but is interrupted twice by T-Bag and his gang.
During his second attempt to remove the bolt, T-Bag discovers what Michael is doing and takes it away.
Michael becomes more desperate to get the bolt and approaches T-Bag, saying that he needs it as a weapon during the “race wars”. But T-Bag doesn’t trust him with it and May Tag slips a popsicle stick in his pocket instead.
Later the prison erupts into war and Michael is thrown off the second story. He lands on the ground and May Tag approaches, determined to take out his competition. Michael wrestles him for the bolt and just as May Tag charges, another inmate stabs May Tag, who falls across Michael’s lap and dies. Of course T-Bag blames Michael.
But Michael finally has his bolt and takes it back to his cell to begin forming it into his necessary allen wrench.
Do you think Michael needed to be patient during this series of events? I realize that the timeline is tight with Lincoln’s impending death sentence, but perhaps there was another bolt on the bleachers or he could have come back at a different time when T-Bag wasn’t watching? What do you think?

I do think Michael had tried already. The writer might not want to describe everything too detail in some occasions, in order to make the story goes more intensively.

He was facing time and because he cant negociate with it he jst had to strike and watch the out come, which he did-an behold T-bag
