Dharma Special Access #6

Lost executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are back with Week 6 of their Dharma Special Access videos. It’s mostly the usual silliness, but they do reveal a few tidbits… You can watch the video below or find a full breakdown of all the good information after the jump.

• Christian Shephard always wears white shoes when he is seen on the island. (I have never noticed this. Am I the only one?) Someone did, and they asked why. They were rewarded for their perceptiveness with a promise that the white shoes are not an accident and we will receive a definitive answer to why he’s always wearing white shoes on the island this upcoming season (Season 5).
• The four-toed statue will be seen again in Season 5! “Probably more pervasively” will it be seen in Season 6, but Darlton promises they have not forgotten about it, and will revisit and explain it.
• Killing off Alex was somewhat planned (if I’m hearing them correctly, they’re kinda vague) but it was done primarily to give Ben a sympathetic motivation for his future actions.

The video concludes with a quick commercial for Ajira Airways, which you can also see at the Ajira Airways website. That website has been updated today with new promotional text for the fictional airline, all of which is thinly-veiled subtext for the upcoming 5th season of Lost.

I’ve still got no idea what’s up with Ajira Airways, if it’s a new Alternate Reality Game or if Ajira will have an important role to play in Season 5. Theories, anyone?
