So. Freaking. Excited. Watch with Kristin got the scoop on Season 3 of Dexter, straight from producer Clyde Phillips. The writers have just started work on the new season, so not all of this stuff may end up in the final scripts, but here’s what we can look forward to:
Dex is all growed up: Phillips said the third season represents Dexter’s adulthood, where Season 1 was his childhood and Season 2 his adolescence. He’ll still use the Code of Harry, but will make it his own.
Anything’s possible: Without the Darkly Dreaming Dexter books to guide them, the writers are starting from scratch on the plotline for the next season.
The One? Rita and Dex’s romance will continue. She and her kids help keep him grounded.
In mourning: With Doakes gone — permanently — Lt. LaGuerta continues to grieve, though Phillips didn’t get into specifics on how she’ll cope with his death.
No word on Deb‘s story arc yet either, but I think we can safely assume that Masuka will still be telling raunchy stories and Baustista will be looking for love in all the wrong places.

well i saw a clip a leaked season 3 clip on u tube and i was shocked to see the “gay” dexter. i anticipate that is not the real dexter s3 clip. if it is, then it is a debacle for my lofty expectations. :( “off the rails dexter”

i would like them to add the dexter in the dark storyline but just not put out that dexter’s killing urges are being made by a child of a demon.. i would rather have them go around the storyline for the whole season be about dexter against the cult, dexter and rita, and ofcourse how laguerta wants to find out the truth…. and oh yeh maybe adding a new girl like a new forensics person that has the hots for dexter and maybe add the fact that in the book, the 2 children cody and aster got the killer urges maybe somehow add that into the storyline…. but just make it into that they got it from season 2 with the lila Abduction and fire in the warehouse scene.
if u cant get enough dex read th e books there fuckin great. the second and third books r diff than the tv show the second book has another serial killer in it
Season 3 comes out Sept 30, and wouldn’t it be weird if LaGuerta ended up being a killer in this season, or someone knows of Dexters secrets and is blackmailing him into killing victims of their choosing? I don’t care what the story line will be, I will be glued to my tv every night it is on.
Dexter is soooo good it’s unfair. I watched season 2 over the course of 2 days and it was such a treat to not have to wait a week between episodes. I wish I had the will power to do the same for season 3. I am worried that season 3 will be a disapointment. I just don’t see how they can top the first 2 seasons. I think Doakes will be missed. He was the perfect antagonist. Will the Bay Harbor case be reopened possibly in Season 3 or would that just be rehashing old news and storylines? One word of advice to writers. Don’t use the subsequent Lindsay books for storylines because they are downright awful. Thanks Dexter for giving me something other than Packers football to look forward to in the fall.
How are these even spoilers???? ‘…Gets the scoop..’????? What, tell us something we have deduced ourselves from the last season.
I think you guys are jumping a bit ahead with storyline, remember season 1 and 2 was already a comic so they flowed into each other with the suspense. Now there writers and director are running on blank paper with no already paved storyline so I’m thinking season 3 will probably be more of a slower season setting up for a 4 and maybe even 5.
Look at Soprano’s or the Wire or any series, they always get slow between season 3 and 4 setting up arcs and storylines, to think the story would instantly get intense for season 3, it cant.. if Doakes was still alive it could be but I think a possibility to play off to hype up[ season 3 and build a huge following to 4 is having Laguerta leave the department and personally hunt for Doakes killer, eventually finding maybe something he left behind, carved into a pipe or something before he got blown up and start a man-hunt for the truth about dexter because she will be torn since she loved Doakes and really likes Dexter has a person.

in my opinion of season 3 – I think Dex will evolve in a way that takes him away from the code of harry and create a code of dexter that has has an even darker nature punishing people who may not even be killers but related to a prejudice of the bay harbor butcher….also he may gain a cult following with a large faithful crowd who may have a few people that kill in his name….Debra may start going nuts ……Batista may get back to his folling the universe crap……Laguerta will be a lil self destructive and the fbi guy will return some how to get back with debra ……will it worout this time? i suspect he will return looking for her and she’ll be dating anutha man…….
I did not like Deb very much at first but I am not very attracted to super skinny girls thier in Florida where is the curves? LOL The Lundy and Deb love intrest things was kinda gross I mean, I know she has daddy issues but come on..yechhh I do not want him coming back…However thier could be a new up and coming Journalist that was following the bay harbour story and noticed somthing no one else did comes to Florida and maybe is a little to clever for his own good. Defeintly another Dark Avenger showing up could never be bad another person pushing into Dexters teritory…who isn’t evil like his brother but maybe a little rash and too flashy wich could threaten to get himself caught and Dexter as well. Or maybe her gets to attachted to Dexter and Jealous and goes after his girl and the kids. I definetly would not mind seeing another dueling serial killer plot line. Maybe he has to go to Cuba and do a prison break type thing after he gets stranded there with not wallet or money and can not depend on the cops or his sister to help. Seeing Dexter get toyed with but comes out on top will allways makes for a great season…..and Lila was Physco she was going to get Dexter caught or killed.
I’m waiting for a much closer call on one of Dexter’s projects… Doakes added stress which made it interesting and the kid in the trunk in season one did as well. Almost getting caught makes it more fun for me. But, keep it original with how close it comes!

nooo there should be no other serial killer but dexter! i love him! cant wait for s3 to come out though, my days are all empty with out him every thursdays! my mother and father are hooked on him too! =) eee i count thee months!
i’d love to see dex up against another serial killer someone very physically imposing and brutal, whos raw power throughs even dex off.

biteing drama, Quite extraordinary show…I am absolutely in love with this series…Totaly hooked. I’ve watched all of season 1 and 2 on show time on demand, and I’m going to be ripping out hair, waiting for season 3! HaHa Miss Lila…Is such a bloody little tramp…I was quite content in the end of series 2 =]….but yes I have read that September 30th may be the start of series 3? If anyone has any other info, please do let me know~!

G’day, Being a huge fan of the character of Doakes, I reckon it will be near impossible to replace his strong characters performance. So I guess a few new arrivals might be required for the third season. How about the new arrival of somebody that Lila contacted – after she found out about dexter being the butcher, or after escaping when she lit the the fire in trying to kill dex and the kids – maybe this new character could secretly taunt dex in revenge.
instead of all this crap this “script-writer” could come up with original airdates or pre-airdates, that would be something!!!

Keep Deb hung up on Lundy. I would like to see that relationship be more than a rebound for her…Lundy in “drop ins” would be good to keep Deb and Dex off balance.
