The numbers are in, folks, and last Sunday’s episode of Dexter killed in the ratings. (I know, I know. Terrible pun. But at least I didn’t say the show “slayed previous records.”)

Showtime reports that the fifth episode of the season was the highest single-telecast on the network since 2004, besting the Season 4 premiere.
According to Showtime, more than 2 million people tuned into watch Michael C. Hall, John Lithgow and the other Dexter stars do their thing. The Hollywood Reporter puts the number at more like 1.7 million, due to some differences in accounting. But either way you slice it (sorry, couldn’t resist!), the show is a hit.
Tune in this Sunday for more suspense as Dexter tracks the Trinity Killer and Rita decides whether the Morgans’ fledgling marriage can be saved.

This season is tragic, his kills seem to be more like a idea then a main part as in season 1. I mean no real talk between Dexter and the vic, has happened in a long time. The Dark Passenger is no longer a character only a esoteric reference between the sex and chatter between Lt. Maria Laguerta & Angel Batista. I mean what is really separating this show from 90210? What happened to Vince Masuka?, In the book and season 1,2 he was involved, where are his house parties? Now he has one liners if that….
You notice his sister granted her evolution as a cop/person has come a long way however she really doesn’t ask Dexter for advice.
Look at the latest victim granted his assistant has taken the fall and Dexter thinks he has killed an innocent man, no doubt will end up being a Hollywood cliche were he was taking care of the body for his boss. Dexter prided himself on researching the victim as he proudly explained to Sergeant Doakes, now seems as if he’s a rookie again. Oh well, the fan boy in me feels better…..
I should have known, when they mention a number of times during the earlier shows, that the trendy killer was a loner, no family, that it would turn out he is a family man just like Dexter.
