Will and Grace actress, Debra Messing, has been cast in the upcoming film, “Humboldt Park.” The family drama also stars Freddy Rodriguez, John Leguizamo, Alfred Molina, Jay Hernandez, Mercedes Ruehl, Luis Guzman, Melonie Diaz and Vanessa Ferlito. It is set to begin shooting in Chicago next week.
Although there is not much information yet about the film, Coming Soon lists the following plot summary: the “story follows a family reunion during the holidays in the Chicago neighborhood of Humboldt Park. Molina is the father who owns a bodega, and Hernandez plays a friend of the family who works there. Diaz is a former lover of Rodriguez’s character and friends with the clan’s daughter (Ferlito). Ruehl is the matriarch.”
It sounds like it could be very interesting and I like Jay Hernandez a lot even though he has not been in many big blockbuster films (remember him in Crazy/Beautiful? Magic!).
