Gore Verbinski has been hired by Universal to direct and produce a live-action movie based on the Hasbro board game "Clue."
Ok, first of all, do we really need a remake of the 1985 movie "Clue"? Did anyone even watch it? Wasn’t it a huge bust? I know some people loved it (cough – EW editor Nicholas Fonseca – cough), but according to the movie’s IMDB page, the movie grossed only $3.15M in the U.S. That’s a pittance!
And having Gore Verbinski direct it? Here’s a guy who directed all three "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, as well as "The Mexican," "The Ring," and well, really not much else.
If the move absolutely must be made, he just doesn’t seem like the guy to do it. Then again, maybe he’ll bring Johnny Depp in as Prof. Plum and Orlando Bloom as Col. Mustard. That wouldn’t be all bad. Still, I’m thinking Steven Spielberg or Ron Howard would be better choices. How about Clint Eastwood? "Put down the crowbar, Mustard, or you can make my day."
Any thoughts on this? Did you – or anyone you know – watch the 1985 "Clue"? Are you excited about the remake?

Are you retarded? Clue became a cult classic, despite it’s box office earnings. Anyone with half a brain knows that it is many people’s favorite comedy, and money does not equal a good movie. I’d like to see you come up with as brilliant of a script as the original Clue had.
