Deadliest Catch 5.04 Preview “Put Up or Shut Up”

On last week’s episode of Deadliest Catch, the boats have encountered low crab numbers which has been creating even more tension among the crew. When the fleet wakes up to ominous red dawn skies, the captains speculate that a severe storm is on the way. But with crab quota to catch, the boats keep fishing.

Last time I showed the fish bite tradition clip. There are many other traditions including the burn barrel tradition. The Catch captains head to the “Burn Barrel,” a pre-crabbing season tradition to wish each other good luck and full pots for the upcoming season and set some stuff on fire too!

In tonight’s episode it’s week four of King Crab Season. Seven souls have perished, but the fishermen soldier on, in the hunt for crab. When Wizard greenhorn Josh decides his bait cutting post is the perfect place to pin up picture of his girlfriend, its open warfare with veteran crewmate Monte, who engages in some heavy duty hazing to convince the rookie that this ain’t no junior high school locker. Meanwhile, the Cornelia Marie struggles to hit its stride with a continuing slump in its crab count so far and now to make matters worse there’s trouble in the engine room. Over on the Northwestern, greenhorn Jake has his inaugural turn operating the hydro lift but when things go awry, Sig has to step in.

The crew of the Time Bandit is hoping to strike gold twice, trying their luck a second time in last year’s crabbing hotspot.
