Are you ready for some good Dark Blue news, especially following the depressing recent cancellation of TNT’s sophomore ensemble legal drama Raising the Bar?

Here goes. While reading up on TNT news around the Web, I came across an encouraging article at Multichannel News titled “TNT Looks Beyond ‘Bar’,” which is oddly dated December 7, two days from now.
Anyhoo, buried deep in the middle of the piece about TNT’s basic-cable rivalry with fellow success USA Network is a totally unexpected gem of a sentence. It reads: “TNT is expected to announce the renewal of its freshman drama series Dark Blue within the next few weeks.”
Okay, maybe that isn’t quite so surprising, considering that in the preceding sentence, the article describes the rookie crime drama as a top performer for the network, with a nice average of 3.3 million viewers, behind The Closer, Leverage, and fellow newbie HawhoRNe.
So, as I promised, darn good news about Dark Blue, which means no more bubble talk for this show. Now we can wait patiently for TNT to make the big, official announcement, hopefully sooner rather than later. Let’s also cross our fingers that the article’s prediction isn’t wrong.
