No word yet on whether Dakota Fanning will co-star with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in "New Moon," the much anticipated sequel to last year’s vampire flick, "Twilight."
But the 14-year-old actress spoke with ET about the rumors that she’s been asked to meet with Summit Entertainment and director Chris Weitz about the role of Jane Volturi. "I really hope that works out," she said. "It would be interesting, really fun to be a part of. I’m a huge fan of all those actors. So, it’s too soon to tell right now, but I really hope that it does happen."
Think she could pull off the role? It would certainly be different from what she’s done, but I think she has the acting chops to do it. And she’s enthusiastic about it, too, saying "It would be so cool to play a vampire."
No contracts have been signed yet, so stay tuned! And catch Fanning in her new film "Push," out Feb. 6.

Well, Dakota Fanning, POSSIBLY would do a good job, not saying that she’s bad, but, I agree with Lindsey, she is only 14, and still growing, Jane is a short, and has cropped hair. If I were to cast her, I’d put alot of make-up on her, and make it look like she’s ACTUALLY Jane.
Well Dakota is a great actress but there are things everyone is over looking. First jane is short and Dakota is tall and still growing thats something else they have to factor in Dakota is 14 she is till growing up and by the time the 4th movie is reliesed she will be soooo different and will be changing throughout the movies. jane is set a babyface boyish looking with brown cropped hair. they cant make her look babyfaces and short for the next three movies its too much work.
i think that Dakota Fanning could defanatly pull this off.
She can be a creepy and dark vampier.
I think it would show her diversity as an actress.
Dakota should defanatly sign on as Jane in “New Moon”
I think she is ideal for this role and personaly i would be dissapointed if she isnt cast as jane!
