Could Oasis Continue Without Noel Gallagher?

With Noel Gallagher quitting Oasis, it has been assumed that this is the end of one of the best rock bands in the world. But is this really the case? Isn’t there a chance that Liam Gallagher, Andy Bell, and Gem Archer could continue on as Oasis?

Noel was obviously the main songwriter in Oasis, and him leaving means a very big hole has opened up in the band. But Liam, Bell, and Archer all also write songs, some of which have appeared on the last two albums.

Could the three of them confidently decide to carry on writing, recording, and touring as Oasis? I’m not too sure how Noel would feel about this but I really don’t think he’d be too bothered at this point. He just seems pleased to be done with it all.

The Mirror newspaper is reporting that Liam told an Italian waiter that it’s all over, but what he actually appears to have said is that him and Noel have gone their separate ways, with no mention of Oasis as a band. He said:

“I had to ask him what the future was and he said it was all over and there was no way he would get back with Noel. He said that Noel had his style of music and he had his and they would be going their separate ways.”

We already know they’ve gone their separate ways and that Noel is no longer in Oasis. But Liam and the other two haven’t yet made an official statement declaring the end of Oasis. So we have to assume the band still exists at this point.
