This series was so good I bought the dvd set. It stays true to the Book of Kings in the Bible. God chose a man to be king for a troubled nation. In the bible he is Saul but as he gets older he replaces faith in the force that chose him with a Machiavellian skill set to wield power. When he strays too far, another king is chosen and is set on the path to power through righteousness. It is shocking that a second season was not approved. Were there not enough bimbos, not enough cheapness – was the quota of being 3rd rate unfilled? Maybe the money boys figured yet another REALITY show would bring in more money so they tanked a second season for Kings. Better to have gum-cracking sleaziness rather than intelligent scripts and great performances. Pander to the lowest common denominator!

The next BSG? could be. After all, just because it has robots and spaceship is not really a criterion for “SF-dom” or “The Left Hand of Darkness” would be a medical show. BSG never got to be a SF piece. More of a War piece.
