‘Chuck’ Graphic Novel #2: From Japan to Russia

Yvonne Strahovski, Zachary Levi, Adam Baldwin/ChuckIt’s time for the second installment of the online Chuck graphic novel.

NBC’s description states: A simple jaunt to Russia & Japan gives Chuck more than just cultural diversity. After watching, though, I’m not quite sure how the trip to Tokyo in present time connects with the trip to Moscow on New Year’s Eve 2020.

Neither journey reaches a clear conclusion, which makes me wonder if either or both of the storylines will get picked up in later installments. As it stands right now, the second video isn’t as satisfying or entertaining overall for me as the first one.

However — and this is a big however — there’s a nice surprise at the end of the second installment that the first installment can’t match. This surprise, which is related to Chuck Bartowski’s personal life, is so unexpected, it will probably make some fans prefer the second online graphic novel.

Watch after the jump and judge for yourself. You can also read pages from the print version of the comic book online at NBC’s Chuck website.
