Cherry Jones is Proud of Allison Taylor

Little is currently known about what type of President Cherry Jones’ Allison Taylor will be in the 7th season of 24, but Jones recently told More magazine that if Taylor were her President she’d be “someone I’d feel immensely comfortable with.” I’m taking that to mean that Taylor will most likely be a Democrat, considering Jones’ politics tend to lean that way.

Just because Cherry Jones leans that way doesn’t necessarily mean that the president she plays as will be a Democrat. Party affiliation is not what matters.

In the 7th season of the show, President Taylor stood firm and did not negotiate with Dubaku despite the enormous amount of pressure from her Chief of Staff. She had focused her entire time in office thus far preparing to restore Democracy to Sangala and stop the worst mass murder in Africa since Rwanda. Democrat or Republican, that’s a hell of an achievement, and who wouldn’t respect or admire something like that?

The only reason I think she’s a Republican is because she defeated Noah Daniels in the election, and Noah Daniels is a Democrat. Wayne Palmer called their administration a “balanced ticket” but what that most likely means is that Wayne was the very liberal Democrat, and Noah Daniels was the more moderate/conservative Democrat.

Besides…it’s not like Democrats are the only people who care about human rights.
