SCI FI Channel has picked up the rights to the Canadian / South African detective series Charlie Jade.
This Blade Runner-ish series concerns a detective who travels between three dimensions, the Alphaverse, the Betaverse and the Gammaverse. Apparently there are terrorist (or rebel) forces in the various dimensions that are trying to stop people from coming over and messing in their own personal dimension and frankly, it all makes me think of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension!
Sounds like hard-core techno scifi with 20 hour-long episodes. No word yet as to when the series will premiere.
Have you seen Charlie Jade? Clue me in!

I have seen the first season of Charlie Jade. A friend of mine recommended it to me and I must say I was pretty impressed. I am South African and it was better than any of our local productions. Having said this don’t expect anything like Heroes or Fringe when watching. In my opinion the best part of the series is the setting. Being South African I can tell the scenes were shot here and I really enjoyed the familiar scenes in the series. Not sure whether this would appeal as much to a non-South African audience
