Californication: 'Verities & Balderdash' Preview

Australia-born 1980s teen heartthrob Rick Springfield makes his big debut on Showtime’s Californication during the October 11 episode “Verities & Balderdash.”

The former General Hospital soap-opera star spoofs himself and is set to appear in four Season Three episodes, at least one of which will give viewers an eyeful when he appears partially nude from the back. I have no idea why so many consider that a big deal — the show is called CaliFORNICATION” after all — but there you have it. You’ve been warned.

During “Verities & Balderdash,” Hank ends up comforting jilted teacher’s aide Jill (Diane Farr, Numb3rs) when he and Becca go to the annual English Department Fall Mixer hosted by Dean Koons and his wife Felicia.

Elsewhere, Becca and Chelsea chat about life, love, and psychedelic mushrooms, and Charlie and his boss Sue Collini grow “closer” after his attempt to celebrate his first signing at her agency — guest star Springfield — with Marcy fail.

Continue below for two sneak peeks at “Verities & Balderdash”: No Means No (Felicia invites Hank to the mixer) and Raw Dog the Top Shelf (Rick Springfield meets with Charlie and Sue).

Californication airs Sundays on Showtime at 10pm ET.
