Californication: ‘The Land of Rape and Honey’ Preview

Gossip Girl standout Ed Westwick guest stars on “The Land of Rape and Honey,” the new October 4 episode of Showtime’s Californication.

After lucky (or maybe not) Hank lands a teaching gig as a professor for an undergraduate creative writing course, he quickly runs into trouble (what else?) that puts him at odds with Westwick’s character, a student named Balt.

Hank offers an opinion about Balt’s work that’s way too honest for Dean Stacy Koons, and the academic forces him to rectify the situation with the student or else face losing his job.

After he gets that out of the way, Hank then drives another writing student, beautiful and talented Jackie (Eva Amurri, Friends), to her job, which isn’t at all what he expects.

Finally, poor Charlie’s nosiness about his roommate Marcy’s romantic life ends in disaster.

Two sneak peeks at “The Land of Rape and Honey” follow: Brutal Truth (student Balt reveals his feelings for Professor Hank to Professor Hank during office hours) and Nubian Brother (an unexpected guest arrives while Hank, Becca, Charlie, and Marcy are eating dinner). The first clip is a hoot.

Californication airs Sundays on Showtime at 10pm ET.
