There’s a new primetime show called Moonlight that airs on Friday nights on CBS at 9 pm ET. It’s about a vampire in modern day Los Angeles and he is actualy one of the good guys. (Remind you at all of Angel…?)
What makes Moonlight an interesting tie-in to the Angel series and the Buffy the Vampire series is that one of the writers / directors is the same person for all three. David Greenwalt directed 4 episodes of Buffy and wrote 111 episodes and directed 7 episodes of Angel. The lead in the series is another hunky actor, Alex O’Loughlin.
It occurred to me that some of the Bones fans who were also fans of Angel and Buffy might enjoy hearing about and following the new show Moonlight. So I’m asking you, the readers of this blog, what do you want? I’m ready to do what you say about this. Please give me your feedback by answering this poll, and give me more specific opinions in the comments. I really appreicate your opinions!

I’m actually only a Bones fan myself, but didn’t want to just assume I knew what you all wanted. I do appreciate the votes and comments. I know now that I’m not going to cover the new show. Bones it is! :-)

I have all the “Angel” series on video, I love Bones, but wow “Moonlight” well what can I say?
Alex O’Loughlin is just to dream about, he can bite my kneck anytime. I will definatley be buying the DVD series when it comes out, and watch it over and over. One to watch ladies!
I don’t like vampire shows/movies but I can’t get enough of Moonlight…
I LOVE this show. I have all of the episodes from iTunes on our Apple T.V. I need more!!
I think that Edqeoforever who commented that CBS should have picked up Angel from the WB and aired it which would have been the shows 6th season instead of creating Moonlight was right on the money. To bad that did not happen. One funny thing i remember that aired right after the series finale of Angel was a short 1 question interview with David asking what are your plans now? in wich he replied take some time off and spend time with my family. This was funny 2 me b/c very shortly after i started seeing promos for a new show called Bones.
I really like bones and ofcourse love anything to do with the buffy/angel verse, now having said that id like to say moon light does not deserve attention even though it might develop in to a good and popular show, why cause it has too many similaritys to Angel. Here’s a few 1- good vampire. 2- resides in LA. 3- has a cute blonde who is unatenable. 4-private investigator. 5- drives a old black converdible. I could go on. Give me a beak !

Wow! I had a feeling I knew the answer already, but had no idea that feelings would be so strong. I was only asking so that I could give you all what you wanted. I’m prfectly happy to just cover Bones. I just didn’t want to fail to ask you your opinions. I think you’ve all made it very clear. ;-)

About your so call tie-in: As Greenwalt has been FIRED from that show, I don’t think is fair for them to claim him as am asset. You like Greenwalt – write about Eureka – a very good show on sci-fi he actually prodices.
To me David Boreanaz is not ‘just another hunky actor” – I hadn’t realized that this was the theme of this site.
I think CBS is shamelessly taking advantage of buying WB – therefore they can’t be sued for copyright for reaping off Angel.
Personally, I think the new show stinks to high heaven – but that’s just me. I like my shows well written and well acted.
Only if you cover all other shows about forensics, all shows involving FBI agents, all shows where the wotd “bones” is uttered (There is a T-Bones Trucker for instance).
Seems that you have two requests for another blog though. Which, if you love that show so much – you should probably consider.
NOT EVERYTHING with fangs is worthy of interest. From the tagline: “being a vampire sucks” onward – one can see the atrocious writing on this silly clone. And also, what I voted on the poll: without David Boreanaz – who cares?
CBS should have acquired WB one year earlier and kept Angel on the air rather than coming with the non-thinking man chippie.
I’ll watch Angel reruns, Bones for new DB and Pushing Daisies for good fantasy new show. But I won’t buy any dumb ol’ story just because they copy Angel’s premise (without the bothersome philosophical, metaphysical implications, characters or good stories).
Again, Angel wasn’t a “formula” – it’s what TV CEO have yet to get through their thick skulls.
personally, i find the duplication itself insulting – but I love all the ink considering David Boreanaz the standard bearer.

I’ve watched a few episodes of Moonlight and I think it is a poor ripoff of Angel and Buffy and not worth the time.
Besides, this blog is called Searching Bones…not Searching Moonlight.
as you stated on the poll “it would be interesting to hear about Moonlight” but every now and then. besides i can’t watch it right now because it isn’t on tv here in Argentina yet, so my only chance is to download it form the internet but…i save the space for Bones episodes.
May be the whole vampire theme it’s a little overrated now a days so…i don’t know how far this show will go.
