Bryan Cranston on Becoming Walter White

Thank goodness basic-cable network AMC renewed the intriguing dramedy Breaking Bad for a sophomore season at the beginning of May.

The Hollywood Reporter had the chance to speak with star Bryan Cranston (Malcolm in the Middle), who revealed his approach to taking on new roles, including that of Walter White, Breaking Bad‘s cancer-stricken protagonist who puts his chemistry skills to use in a side career as a drug dealer to secure his family’s future after he’s gone.
