Brit Awards 2009 Nominations In Full

It’s that time of year again when The Brit Awards reign supreme. Unlike the critics-lead Mercury Music Prize, the Brits tend to follow popularity and sales, both in nominations and the eventual winners.

The Brit Awards 2009 ceremony will be held on February 18, 2009 at Earl’s Court in London. It will be presented by Kylie Minogue, James Corden, and Mathew Home, so expect a little more professionalism than was demonstrated last year by the Osbournes.

I live-blogged last year’s event (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4) and am planning on doing the same this year (fingers crossed my Internet connection and PC are up to the task). Join me in a month’s time to see if I get any of my predictions correct.

I think duffy will win best breakthrough, and possibly best female. But i reckon breakthrough is a cert for duff duff, its the public voting ya see. Maybe adele with take british female, since she went to the brit school blah blah blah. I reckon coldplay will take the best album. Best single? Im scared it just might go to girls aloud. If not, coldplay or duffy are safe bets. I don’t think that x factor nonsense will win.. surely?? Kings of leon are a dead cert for int. band, but i’d love MGMT to win, they’re amazing. Its a toss up between katy perry & beyonce for int. female, could be either. And i can see Jay-Z taking int. male cos of the whole glastonbury affair.
