Ay, Chihuahua! Disney’s Beverly Hills Chihuahua was top dog (couldn’t resist) at the box office for a second weekend, with Quarantine in second place, and Body of Lies in third. I was hoping for more with that picture, but it didn’t measure up.
I’m bummed that the Fox-Walden fantasy film, City of Ember, didn’t do better, but it’s no surprise with the dismal marketing it had. Still, we loved it. Here are the numbers from Box Office Mojo:
- Beverly Hills Chihuahua, $17.50M
- Quarantine, $14.21M
- Body of Lies, $12.88M
- Eagle Eye, $10.91M
- Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, $6.42M
- The Express, $4.56M
- Nights in Rodanthe, $4.54M
- Appaloosa, $3.32M
- The Duchess, $3.30M
- Fireproof, $3.14M
- City of Ember, $3.12M
- Lakeview Terrace, $2.65M
