'Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned' DLC Coming Soon

My Twitter pal, Miss Violette, who is a guest writer for BusyGamer.com turned me on to a new game that was released just weeks ago, but already has some nifty DLC (downloadable content for you non gamer types) coming out soon–Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned.

Borderlands is a first-person shooter that allows you to select one of four characters (Soldier, Hunter, Siren, and Beserker), each with a unique skill set and proficiency with certain weapons. Your character then takes on quests assigned through non-player characters or bounty boards that allow you to get experience points and other rewards. You can also become specialized in certain areas like sniping, melee combat and scavenging. The game is set on the planet of Pandora where colonies were started but never flourished due to lack of resources. The planet became a barren wasteland but within lurks a mysterious and deadly “Vault”–a treasure trove of alien intelligence/technology.

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is the first DLC for the game set to release on November 24. The content includes new quests, items and enemies. The storyline takes place in Jakobs Cove where Dr. Ned transformed the workers of the cove into deadly zombies. It is the player’s job to assist him in finding a cure for the victims.

The cost for Zombie Island is about ten bucks and the content should take about 6-10 hours to complete. More DLC is on the way for Borderlands but the zombies for this add-on make it good stuff. The DLC will drop for PS3 and Xbox 360 with a PC version rumored to follow shortly after.
