Bones fan, Jamie Frevele, has done it again! She just published another piece in the Huffington Post where she talks In Defense of Hart Hanson.
She writes about the fans’ violent resistance to Zack’s exit from the show as a killer and about the reasons why the writers must sometimes shock us this way. Be sure to go read her commentary on the season finale’s “Zack-lash.” Great stuff!

Good for her!
I loved ‘The Pain in the Heart’. Don’t get me wrong I love Eric/Zach but it was such a good episode and one hell of a twist (even though spoilers ruined it for me).
As much as I love Eric/Zach I loved the episode/storyline whatever and don’t think it was bad writing as some have said. I can’t wait for Season4 to see how everyone deals with it and of course the usual Bones drama :)

this show is like finding the biggest, shiniest diamond in the world with no visible imperfections, only to look under a microscope and notice that it has a huge crack in the middle of it.
the best you can hope for is to cut it in half and make two shiny diamonds out of it.
the problem is, it’ll never be as brilliant as before..
..that’s how i saw this finale anyways.

The problem for me was not that they made him leave, it was simply how it was done.
It was totally out of character, against what the show stands for and worst of all insulting to the viewers and cast.
This looooonnnggg article could easily fit in the plot-holes that came along with this story-line.
I could have created a more likely story, with him still leaving, and managed to fit it into one episode.

Thanks so much, Lynn! And just in case anyone is brave enough to venture over to my other blog to read my eyestrain-inducing post of “Zack theories” (via the link at the end of my article), I apologize for the salty language. :-)

I like the season finale, too. And, I’m happy that some people defends Hart Hanson because it’s a good finale. It’s sad that Zack leave of the tv show but I think that this is necessary for the characters.
Sorry, my english, it’s very bad… I’m spanish and I learn english little to little. I like very much searching bones, thanks for all the news…

It was a terrible ending–totally out of character of the actor and the shows last couple of seasons…. It just doesn’t make sense, no matter how much they tried to make it seem plausable in the last couple of shows.
In the entirety of Zach on the program–he could not have become a killer.
Shame on a job badly done.
