The new series of Big Brother UK, the ninth overall, has just kicked off with a launch night showing the latest bunch of freaks and weirdos who have signed up for 3 months of humiliation on British television. So what does that mean? All the previous contestants start worming their way out of the wilderness.
One in particular who has found herself completely out of the public eye, but now sees a chance to use the publicity from Big Brother 9 to launch what she would call a career, and the rest of us, five minutes of fame, is Charley Uchea. Yes, that Charley, the one who left to a record number of boos last year.
She was interviewed by Digital Spy earlier this week, and gave her views on Big Brother, her fellow ex-housemates, sworn enemy Channelle Hayes, and the titbit which makes this story of any interest to Brit music lovers, the fact that she is planning to launch a Pop career. Oh God, not another wannabe one hit wonder.
She said:
“I’ve got a single coming out. You’ve got to wait to hear it because I can’t say too much about it. But it’s coming soon and it’s really hot. It’s like funky house electro – that’s the remix – and then the single version is R&B-hip hop.”
“It’s just one single. I’m going to see how that goes and if everyone takes to it, I might release a few more. Who knows, next year I might be Mariah Carey with a bit of luck.”
Er no you won’t love, the single will bomb, if indeed there is a single and you aren’t just taking out of your top hat like you spent most of the programme doing. And even if it does get released, and does do well, you won’t be Mariah Carey because you can’t sing, and are much much uglier than her. And she’s a moose.
That might sound harsh but I’ve really had enough of Big Brother stars thinking they can automatically sing because they have been on a reality television show. We’ve already seen Sam and Amanda release a single, which bombed by the way, and then Chanelle spectacularly fail to light up the Pop charts despite having a programme made about her attempt to reach number one, and a sex tape with a puppet teased out to newspaper in an attempt to gain publicity.
Just stop it please. I’m a big fan of Big Brother, but once the show ends, and you leave the house, that’s it, all over, get out of our sight and go back to being a shop assistant or whatever. None of you are Pop stars!!!

Right. I have to say, who are we to judge what people do in their lives?? No seriously. Fair enough she was PORTRAYED as a bitch.. but do you know her to say.. “YES in fact that girl is a bitch”..
I personally think that Charley is a human being. And human beings are not the same.. therefore just because she claims herself as an “it girl”(or whatever) you instantly ‘hate’ her… Lifes Too Short To SEEK enemies… I it’s Jealously.

- Simply stop watching Big Brother then! Now that’s a cure. And You won’t even recongise them outside the show!
If they want to release a single.. why won’t they?? I know for a fact if someone approached ANYONE for a recording contract with a bit of money.. they would say happily take it with open arms.
I don’t think it’s right to critize someone for their enthusiasm to try something new regardless of their talents.
Especially if it’s someone who has nothing better to do in their life but rant on about other peoples’ trial for success… Pretty Low dude – Don’t you think??
