Best (?!) of ‘The Gong Show with Dave Attell’

Earlier this week, I received a whole bunch of exclusive — well, I’m sure they’re not so exclusive at this point — video clips featuring some of the more “interesting” acts that have wandered across the stage of Comedy Central’s new competition series The Gong Show with Dave Attell.

As the title indicates, this is a modernized version of the classic 1970s–80s original created and hosted by controversial Chuck Barris, a show I watched faithfully when I was too young to fully understand the weirdness going on. But I’m old enough now, and I can’t believe the atrocious TV goodness I’ve been missing by not giving Gong: The Next Generation a look-see.

The show airs Thursdays at 10pm EST on Comedy Central, and tonight’s judges are Dave Navarro, Greg Giraldo, and Andy Dick. Now check out the three clips from my stash that I find most, er, intriguing. A couple border on mortifying, which is the only way to get the complete Gong Show experience.
