I haven’t seen “Crazy Heart” yet, but it’s getting lots of buzz, as well as a Golden Globes best actor nod for Jeff Bridges, who plays Bad Blake, a “broken-down, hard-living country music singer who’s had way too many marriages, far too many years on the road and one too many drinks way too many times,” according to the Fox Searchlight official synopsis.
Maggie Gyllenhaal and Robert Duvall also star in the film, directed by Scott Cooper. It’s based on a novel by Thomas Cobb, produced by Duvall, with music by T-Bone Burnett. All of these folks combined must have about 300 years in the entertainment business.
