"Be Kind Rewind" Preview

jackblack1 “Be Kind Rewind” hits theaters this Friday, Feb. 22. The New Line Cinema flick stars Jack Black as Jerry, a junkyard worker who decides to sabotage a power plant he thinks is causing his headaches.

Instead, he inadvertently causes his brain to become magnetized, leading to the unintentional destruction of all the movies in his friend’s store. In order to keep the store’s one loyal customer (an elderly lady with an iffy grasp on reality), the pair decide to re-create a long line of films, including “The Lion King,” “Rush Hour,” “Ghostbusters,” “When We Were Kings,” “Back to the Future,” “Driving Miss Daisy,” and “Robocop.”

me_swededAs you might imagine, things get wild and crazy, as they recruit the townspeople to star in their films. Though Jack Black hasn’t always scored at the box office (Nacho <cough> Libre), I still love the heck out of him and look forward to seeing this movie. It also stars Mos Def, Danny Glover and Mia Farrow, and is rated PG-13 for some sexual references.

The movie’s official web site has a funny thing where you can upload your pic to the cover of a favorite DVD, i.e. “swede” yourself. Here’s me, starring in “Lord of the Rings.”
