We’ve been waiting for rock and rap to collide again since Aerosmith and Run DMC paired up in the 80s or was it the 90s? Regardless of when it was, Plant Green is trying to get two legends in both genres to team up for the better good of the earth. Planet Green begins its 10 episode series Battlefield Earth, which features a friendly rivalry between Tommy Lee and Atlanta rapper Ludacris. The series will culminate with a large concert in Los Angeles.
The contest is a 30-day challenge to see which “team” can do more to save the planet. The winner gets bragging rights and the opportunity to headline a concert, held at Griffith Park, to benefit its renewal after it was devastated by wildfire. We heard from Planet Greenthat the concert raised more than $33,000, including a donation from Treeland.
So tune in tomorrow Thursday, August 7, at 10:00pm for the “Raise the Roof,” challenge which is a contest involving solar power. Watch the commercials that have been airing for the show.
