Animal Cops: South Africa

Animal Cops: South Africa is a new series that premiered on June 6th. The show is around the cases that the SPCA in South Africa’s Cape of Good Hope are investigating and handling.

The Cape of Good Hope SPCAis a community-run NGO and is a member of the NSPCA (National Council of SPCAs). Great what you’re doing for our animals in South Africa. I’ve always watched the American show and thought it would be nice to start something similar in South Africa. Are you thinking of spreading down to Johannesburg? I would like to join as I have a passion for animals and their well-being.

I was so excited when animal cops SA was announced! I am a HUGE animal lover – they are like my children. I’ll watch every series IF I can, instead of watching something else. There is one thing that bothers me tremendously and that breaks my heart – we have such a huge shortage of funds, that from the last few episodes that I have seen, the worst emaciated and neglected animals could not be saved due to the fact that SA is not equipped with the necessary first aid equipment on the spot! There are no proper equipped transport for the animals to be taken to the vet. I have not once seen that SA do first aid on the spot! SA only have small ordinary “bakkies”, without any air conditioned cages, to keep them stable. I feel that more effort should be done, to SAVE an animal; does not matter in what state it may be, and put up for adoption, instead of humanly euthanize them, because they are “beyond saving” Look at Mexico, Phoenix, some cases are beyond worse, – but they saved the dog, even if it took the vet 3 months! Why, because they have the equipment vans, the “on the spot medical aid” the hospitals are like 5 stars treatment. Please save our four legged “children” and educated the people – otherwise they are not worthy of having pets!

My name is Sabrina Saharudin, and I am only 11 years old. Everyday, I see many trees being chopped down by cruel men. I felt sad for all the birds that were killed in that incident. Also, many animals here are dying because of lack of food. I try helping as much as I can, but I am only 11. I stay in Selangor,Malaysia. Please tell me what I can do for these animals. Thank you.
