An Article About House as the Modern-Day Sherlock Holmes

All In 3 - via DrGregHouse.com

Now that the third season is over, it becomes important to find other ways to get our House fix. So, I went in search of articles today.

Here’s good article in the Times Colonist about House. Among a number of other interesting observations, the article talks about the similarity of House to Sherlock Holmes. As a long-time Holmes fan, it actually came as a surpise, but totally makes sense! Check it out:

House’s relationship to Wilson is Holmesian by design: House’s creator, London, Ont., native David Shore, has said that he intended his main character to bear more-than-passing resemblance to Arthur Conan Doyle’s misanthropic sleuth, Sherlock Holmes.

Holmes, homes–House. Even Dr. Watson–or James Wilson–could connect those dots.

The character is not all that is similar. House’s friendship with Dr. Wilson recalls that of Holmes with Dr. Watson.

…And if, following tonight’s finale, you’re wondering when the next new episode will air, now you know: August. Case closed. 9 p.m., Global, Fox

I knew that House was based in Sherlock Holmes,
but he is more conceited than Holmes and a know-all. I don’t like House but I like Holmes.
