Amaury Nolasco recently chatted with EXTRA about what he’s heard from fans since Prison Break ended in May and why he thinks his character was spared by writers for the entire series.
Amaury reveals that fans have mixed emotions. “A lot of people have told me that they cried. It was an emotional ending. You always have a fear that fans are going to say, ‘What the !@#$?” That’s not the way we wanted it to end!’ I think there were angry fans because those fans didn’t want the show to end. I don’t think they were angry at the way it ended. I think they just wanted it to keep going, which is always flattering.”
He also reiterates that the show wasn’t cancelled. “It’s funny because I always hear people say that “Prison Break” got cancelled. We didn’t get cancelled. The show came to an end. It was going to come to an end no matter what.”
As for his character, Sucre, Amaury still isn’t sure why he was spared in the end! “I ask myself that question everyday. I got stabbed. I got shot. I got beat up by men and women. But there was always this bond between Michael and Sucre that people fell in love with. It was this brotherhood that they had. Sucre was one of those characters that you wanted to root for. I honestly am very blessed that writers saw what the fans wanted. They spared me. They kept me all the way to the end. It was a beautiful life that came full circle.”

It really was a beautiful well constructed yet strong brotherhood and friendship between Michael and Sucre!
He probably trusted Mahone.
When he was going to do the parachute plan, we can assume at first he was thinking he should put himself in the parachute, not knowing the FBI would be there. But then mahone stepped in and told Michael they would be there if he landed, so then he got the idea of the dummy in the window of the ArmyAndNavy story. After this, Michael knew he could trust him.
I dont think he did tell Mahone he was going to die doing this, I think it was just all about the parachute plan. But its impossible to tell whether any of us is right or wrong, sometimes we just have to assume.
Michael chose Alex because he knew he could on him & he knew that he was not a traitor.He didn’t choose Sucre because he was like a brother to him & he would stop him the same as Linc.Sucre wouldn’t agree about Michael’s plan & he wouldn’t let him sacrificed himself.But Alex wasn’t close 2 Michael as Sucre.
yes they were best friend and this why I can´t understand why Michael did tell Mahone what he going to do if things go wrong and he knew things would go wrong… and why he give Mahone dvd and his medical report and wedding ring..He knew Mahone was still contact FBI..and He knew that Mahone did give plan A to FBI…unless he wanted to people think he was dead…Linc would stop him ,,but Sucre ,Sara and Linc were persons he did trust…his life not Mahone .he …. choose Sucre
Yes, we love the bond between Michael and Sucre. That makes us want to have the bond between our friends as they do! And it is amazing.
