Alaska Experiment – Meet Camp Flower Lake

flowerlakegroup.jpg

The gang over at Camp Flower Lake are an eclectic bunch coming from all walks of life. We have a group of three persons, two males and one female. Tim, who is 36 is an African American IT Tech for Hewlett-Packard out in LA. Though he’s an LA guy, he seems to be very close to nature…am I being stereotypical here? But he’s into skydiving, bungee jumping, surfing and adventure racing.

The other male, Alan, is 40 and also made his living with computers. He worked on Wall Street, but now has his own business in Jersey. He loves sports and spends alot of time kayaking and surfing…Hmmm, I’m wondering where in Jersey he gets this done! HA!

The lone female of the crew, Jasmine is 26 and is known as the “Real Estate Diva” from San Diego. She describes herself as a free spirit.

i want to know how to sign up for experiments like this. I’ve seen Frontier House and every show like it, and the Alaska Experiment was the pinnacle of the genre. If it can be done there in winter, i believe it can be done anywhere. And I want to do it. Badly. All my life i’ve been somewhat out of sync with the time i’m in. To me a chance to get the experience you’ve shared is worth any hardships. So if you could send me a email address or a phone number of whoever does these ‘experiments’, i would be grateful. I hope to hear from someone.

I am just as confused Jo. The three did all that wood chopping and gathering. Tim killed a goat. The cabin looked nice and neat and ready for winter and then they went on that hike. I just about lose my mind when I watch that show. I grew up in the countryside, the woods were my life. There were so many things that they could have done to make their stay more comfortable. But I did remind myself that these were city types and this was an experiment. They could have made beds, an outbuilding for storage, a make shift bathroom and sauna drying area. Oh well, guess they wanted to annoy Greg and Bernice.

I meant from Flower Lake camp to Hawkins Glacier camp.

I did not watch the full episodes, so I might be missing something. I watched 2 episodes: the trek back to the landing strip and one before that.

I’m a little confused as why people from Camp Flower lake went to Camp Bay? They obviously caused hardships for the Camp bay people. Did people from Camp Flower could not survive at their location anymore? Or it was part of the plot?

    Thanks
