Ella Murphy from When Sea Lions Attack episode of After the Attack has sustained multiple injuries from this traumatic event. The type of injures that she sustained from her teeth being knocked out by the animal as well is teeth being loss will result in over 6 years of therapy for her.
Dave believes that he can get Ella to really embrace the animal and get over her fears and return to the water. He takes Ella to Sea World on Australia’s Gold Coast to give her access to the marine animals on site there. Dave spends time with e sea lion trainer so that he can get a better understanding of how they work and how they interact with humans. The important thing to note here is that these animals are not the same as the ones in the wild and their behaviors may be different. They are very dominant creatures and do not like their spaces invaded.
She’s a very brave girl. And though the encounter is very well supervised she has no issues with getting into the water with the animal. I think the process, though not very realistic of what it would be to encoutner a wild sea lion was one that could prove to do wonders for anyone faced with this situation.
Later on in the episode Dave does take Ella to swim with wild sea lions on Baird Bay in Australia.
