Affleck in Talks for "The Company Man"

In a plot ripped from the headlines, Ben Affleck is in talks to star in The Company Man, a drama about a man who’s laid off due to financial downsizing and must cope with the fallout.

I’m sure Affleck will take every opportunity to espouse his political views during the making of and publicizing of this movie. Wasn’t there a rumor that he was thinking about running for office? This will probably be a nice segue into that career.

John Wells will direct, produce, and write the screenplay. The script calls for a second male lead, but no word on who that might be.

What do you bet we start seeing more films about economic hard times? Will they help us cope (maybe that’s asking too much from a movie), or just make us feel worse?
