I am really looking for a pure horror ep. To be scared crapless by SN it’s soo good ! I’m intrigued ny the magicians but it’s a little too short for know what it will be , but the title is totaly awsome ! I laughed my head off seeing Dean in shorts , why can’t we have more teachers like that ? He looks hot ! It seems in the season 4 they like that Dean be disguised . I can understand some do not like that , I find it very funny , maybe there is a reason behind all that . But for a change , I would like to see Sammy dressed up , too !

I don’t see it as dumbing down Dean, more like playing up the sterotype. The shorts, socks and headband, the power of the whistle, making the fat kid run laps… even the subtle gay marriage joke- it’s all gym teacher sterotypes.
Plus, how can younot laugh at Dean in that get up? it’s inpossible lol

I agree Colin Ford is going to knock this one out of the park like he did in AVSC.

FR looks freaky, can’t wait and CAIADB (awesome title) looks interesting too. For the next three eps it seems to be ‘spot the guest star’.

I agree, Cyn, with your concern about Dean in “Afterschool”. These are the same new writers who gave us “Yellow Fever” and I hated how they treated Dean’s fears as some kind of slapstick farce. I don’t think they’ve mastered the distinction between humor vs. making a character the object of ridicule. Jensen will pull it off as usual but it bothers me that this characterization of Dean seems to be becoming a trend, at least with these guys.

I thought the whole thing with the headband and the socks was hilarious. Completely and utterly unrealistic, I teach and none of our gym teachers dress like that, but I still found it funny. I didn’t look at it like he was bullying the kids so much as playing the part. Playing to what they expect. You often have to put up a front when you are a teacher/sub to get kids to respect you, then you can tear away that mask and be nice and the person you really are, someone who cares about kids. There….that’s my soapbox, I’m reliquishing it now. LOL
