Bad news guys, FOX has delayed the premiere of 24 indefinitely. 24 will not premiere until the WGA strike is over, as FOX wants to ensure that the show will be able to run all 24 episodes consecutively. Below is the 24 section of the press release that FOX sent out announcing their new strike schedule:
“24” PREMIERE POSTPONED TO ENSURE “DAY 7″ PROVIDES NON-STOP ACTION
In light of the recently announced strike by The Writers Guild of America, FOX has revised its lineup for January and the remainder of the 2007-2008 season. (The new schedule is subject to change, pending resolution of the strike.)
The seventh season premiere of 24 is being postponed to ensure that “Day 7″ can air uninterrupted, in its entirety.
24 will be replaced by Prison Break in January.
Sorry guys. Here’s hoping the strike is resolved soon.

On 7-22-08 the following appeared at my inbox: “We’ve noticed that you’ve not been active on “The 24 Forum” – The Twenty Four Forum.com for quite some time now, and we miss you!” It was addressed to “Jazzman” I am Jazplyr. Diana, do you have a mouse in your pocket? What’s with this ‘we’ business? OK, since I’m beginning to emerge from a knock-down drag-out bickerment with pneumonia I’ll re-activate. Some thoughts about “24″; Gary Enochs, the Hulu site holds no attraction for me because I own all six seasons on DVD. There remain other attractions on Hulu and furthermore, the Hulu forum provides more latitude for comments, Diana runs a tight ship. Everyone embraces opinions on “24″ and all of the opinions are legit. There remain several reason for it’s high ranking, the real time format, digital clock with sound effects, and the close relationship with current events. The plots and sub plots are outstanding beginning with season #1 at which time Jack’s fate was sealed. As evidence I refer to Jack’s conversation with Sen. Palmer. They both made enemies, all of which were powerful and wealthy. Jack’s assignments in the east European countries was designed to fail from the get-go. Remember Stephen Saunders in season #3? The defining moment/s occurred in Season #6. Defense sec’y Heller: “You’re cursed Jack”. Phillip Bauer: “You could have had it all Jack”. I believe that no one in real life could have been able to endure trauma to this extent. I would suggest that all who own the DVDs carefully listen to the conversations because, hints and clues relating to potential future seasons abound. Now, the producers have thrown us a bone, the late November prequel. Overall, “24″ crested in season #4 and it’s well nigh impossible to maintain the nature of it’s content regardless of the writers’ inventive genius. That said, I’ll be surprised if “24″ doesn’t get a ’second wind’ in season #7. The plots for it have been set up in the previous seasons. It’s still the only TV weekly that holds my interest, the timing is perfect, Monday Night Football is over and done, and there’s a reason to anticipate Monday nights.
