Recap
Thanks to David G. for his recap:
“This recap is written in real time”
At the start of the hour, Jack was being treated after his seizure. When he tried to warn Agent Walker, his doctor tried to stop him, but Jack’s will was strong. He was able to warn Walker, and she put out an APB on Tony, while Tony continued to escape. After she set out the APB, Jack took full responsibility of not realizing Tony’s intentions.
Tony stopped at a hotel room to purchase the virus canister from the suspect. When he tried to double cross Tony, they went after each other and fought. Tony pulled him to the shower, and started to suffocate him with the shower curtain, ending in the suspect’s death.
At the white house, we were told Jon Voigt’s character, Hodges, is alive, but not doing too well. They then got a phone call from Jack Bauer, telling the President about how Tony double-crossed them. The President went on to relay the news of Hodges to Jack. Jack figured Hodges was coerced to commit suicide, so he told President Taylor he needed to talk to him.
While still in the hotel room, a woman showed up, telling Tony they have a delivery to deal with. Tony suggested they take the canister, and finish the job themselves, but she said it wasn’t their choice. Tony disagrees, and convinces her to do it his way.
At 3:16, the President met with her daughter, and told her even though Hodges was still alive, she needed him to look dead, and the problem to disappear. Her daughter was upset at Hodges for all the men he’s killed, and he should be punished, but the President made it clear that this was the best thing to do.
Back at the hotel room, the woman that visited Tony was busy speaking to her colleagues. Currently, they were busy figuring if they should wait six more months, or do it now. Seeing that this show is based off of the events that happen in a single day, my guess is the vote will end in immediate action. The end of the scene proved my theory right.
At FBI Headquarters, Jack Bauer and Renee Walker showed up to interrogate Jonas Hodges. Coming out of the shadows, Jack Bauer began his interrogation. He wanted to know who is threatening his family, and who he’s been working with. Hodges pulled his crap about working for another company that would do what is necessary to keep this country safe, because our government is corrupt. He even spoke about Jack’s hearing, and how they treated him like dirt, instead of a hero. Jack got impatient and kept asking for names, which Hodges said he had none. So Jack was about to spill the beans that Hodges was alive, so Hodges swore he didn’t know, but told him about the woman who offered him the suicide pill.
Jack spoke to the president, and asked her for all possible resources, which she gave the okay. Jack called Chloe, and asked her for help. At 3:42 Jack was just finished shooting up again, and went directly into a briefing room. He and Renee explained the new biological attack. Finally, they made the decision to re-open the CTU servers to help avert the attack. When Chloe arrived, Jack broke the news to her about Tony’s deception.
Meanwhile Tony and his new evil girlfriend arrived at an innocent man’s home. Their first step in their plan was to frame this man to look like he set everything up. Back at the white house, the President’s daughter whines to Aaron Pierce about letting Hodges walk free, and how it’s not justice. Pierce apologizes to her, but also comforts her, telling her he’s seen the guilty walk free many times…but in the end it’s what this nation needs. After he left, she pulled her usual tricks, and went straight to the phone to call Martin, the reporter. She said she needed to speak to him in person immediately.
At FBI headquarters, Janis was complaining about CTU servers, and Jack went ballistic on her, and lost his mind a little. He made the mistake of calling the President David Palmer. Poor Jack. On the other side of town, Tony makes his move, starting the plan.
