Recap
Thanks to David G. for his recap:
“This recap is written in real time.”
Previously on 24, we learned that Jack Bauer is dying very quickly and won’t allow Kim to help and Tony Almeida is once again a terrorist. 24 has a way of making us think a certain way, then telling us something completely different. So does that mean Tony could still be a good guy? Hopefully we’ll know more in tonight’s episode.
Because Jonas Hodges was arrested last week, his attorney was getting ready to leave her home and speak on his behalf. Out of nowhere she was knocked unconscious, and another woman stole her identity. Meanwhile, Tony was currently busy making Larry’s murder look like it was caused by a shootout. He then called the suspect, and at the moment, they were planning on blowing a few FBI agents to smithereens.
Back at FBI headquarters, Kim was explaining to Agent Walker that she’s heading back to Los Angeles, because she feels useless and unwanted there. You see when Jack Bauer makes a decision, Jack Bauer makes a decision. Well Agent Walker cut the conversation short when she got a phone call from a paramedic who broke the news of Larry’s death to her gently…or not. She told him she would personally help with the search for the suspect.
Currently Jack was being debriefed, during the debriefing, Jack showed more symptoms. He began repeating himself like a broken record. He left the debriefing and joined Agent Walker in the helicopter to find the suspect who killed Larry.
While Jack had a heart to heart conversation with Walker in the helicopter, Hodges body double showed up where he was being held. He noticed right away that she wasn’t who she said she was. She offered a nice case of black mail and handed him a red pill. (Not the blue pill). If he killed himself, his family would be safe, if he didn’t, his family would not be safe. She left the cell and called her boss, most likely the new villain of the season, and told him Hodges understood the arrangement.
When the helicopter landed, Jack and Renee stepped out and looked at Larry’s body. Tony took the time to explain what all went down. Jack, being the kind of guy he is, figured out the suspect did not do it alone….there was a second shooter!
At 2:32 A.M. Kim spoke on the phone with what looks to be her husband judging by the ring on his finger, and the baby in the crib. She told him about her father’s condition. I half expected that her husband was really a bad guy and that she was in trouble…but nope.
At the scene, Jack began having more symptoms, and he injected himself with his medicine. Tony came up and spoke to him sympathetically…but in reality, he really wanted him gone…that or he really wants Jack safe.
Minutes later, Agent Walker and a ton of other agents went in pursuit of the suspect. Jack stayed behind due to his condition.
While being transported, Jonas took the suicide pill his attorney gave him. Within seconds he began seizing. The men transporting him immediately began driving to the nearest hospital. In a weird way, I really don’t want him dead just yet.
While paying attention to what was going on, Jack got a call from the person who debriefed him earlier about a questionable source linked to Tony Almeida, but he had to cut the call short. Jack then noticed a problem on the computer. They pulled a few techno maneuvers and found out it was a trap. Jack was able to call Agent Walker and explain to her it was a trap, thankfully Walker was safe, but some other nice FBI men didn’t make it.
After the explosion, Jack called the man back again, who explained Tony’s source that supposedly died, was alive and well, which told Jack Tony was involved in this somehow. He walked up to Tony and asked him what was going on. Tony fibbed yet again, but Jack didn’t believe him. Unfortunately, Jack won’t have any luck explaining his theory to anyone else, because the poor guy began seizing again. Once again, Tony walked free.
